Legoland Hotel

This Is Not Sponsored, Just Seriously Obsessed: Legoland Hotel Stay

Let me get this out of the way up front—this is not a paid post. No collabs, no comps, no discount codes. Trust me, I didn’t get a thing for writing this, except the pure joy of sharing an unexpectedly magical family getaway that I simply had to tell you about.

So here’s the scoop.

This summer, after a whirlwind overseas trip with the kids in March (Germany & Ethiopia), I was looking for an easy get away. Flying right now? A no from me.

Enter: a fabulous mom friend from the OC Black Moms group. She mentioned her great experience at the Legoland Hotel, and before I could say “minifigure,” I was researching rates. But hold up—I had to get approval from our financial advisor (aka my husband). After a little charming persuasion … he gave the green light for a three-night stay at the Legoland Castle Hotel. And let me tell you: absolutely worth it.

From the moment we walked into the Castle Hotel, the kids were wide-eyed and enchanted. Think bunk beds, in-room Lego stations, and immediate playtime. Honestly, I think they moved in emotionally within the first five minutes.

Every evening, the courtyard came alive with hotel-guest entertainment, and yes, there’s a playground right there. During the day, we hit the theme park—but the best part? We could easily walk back for mid-morning naps (because 5 a.m. wakeups mean 11 a.m. is officially nap o’clock).

We did have access to the water park, but the hotel pool ended up being our happy place. It was less crowded, and as a former lifeguard and proud water safety mom, I give their team an A+. They were on it.

A Few Tips & Real Talk Notes:

  • Manage expectations: This hotel is 1000% for the kids. If you’re looking for luxury spa vibes, this ain’t it.
  • Food: Meh. It’s pricey and basic. Pack snacks, maybe even a few treats of your own. Breakfast is a free buffet (plenty of choices, nothing gourmet). Cocktails? Not sweet unless you ask. Consider this your friendly PSA.
  • Scavenger Hunt: Only one per reservation now (it used to be nightly), but still a fun little touch.
  • Early Access: Hotel guests get into the park 45 minutes before the general public—huge perk! Bring your room key and line up early. Our kids got to open the park one morning and the little girl in me almost cried. A moment I’ll never forget.
  • Pool Temp: Heated, yes—but don’t expect bathwater. It’s… refreshing.
  • Dance Party Room: If your little ones need to burn off energy, this space is clutch.
  • Courtyard Rooms: Great if you’re cool with a little ambient joy (read: kid noise). Perfect for families with older kiddos.
  • Pop Badge Collecting: A fun next-level adventure, better suited for older kids who enjoy a good quest.
  • Secret Surprises: So many hidden clues and Lego scavenger hunts around the hotel and park! Pro tip: Reddit has some seriously helpful threads—do a little digging before your trip.
  • Sea Life Aquarium: A serene (and air-conditioned!) bonus next door. Scavenger hunt included, prize at the end. Educational and a break from the heat.
  • Lego Movie Screenings: Chill out in the courtyard with a drink in hand while the kids watch Lego movies?

The Best Part?

We didn’t fight.

And if you’re a parent, you know—that is the mark of a great trip. Everything we needed was right there. No driving, no planning, no stressing. It was truly a kid-first vacation, which meant we could relax and actually enjoy ourselves too.

So here it is: my unsponsored, unsolicited love letter to the Legoland Hotel. For the kids? Absolutely. But if you let yourself lean in, there’s joy for the grown-ups too.
